Redfall’s always-online DRM and the fact that the game will be released with only a 30 fps “Quality mode” on Xbox Series X|S have generated some controversy. However, the release of the title has not been affected.
Those who have preordered Redfall can also begin preloading the game on PC and Xbox so that it is available to play as soon as it is released in their region.
Redfall was developed by the same studio that produced Prey, which is widely regarded as the apogee of contemporary immersive simulation games. It remains to be seen whether the game will deliver when it launches on Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC on May 2, 2023.
