Today, DJI introduced the Mavic 3 Pro, an evolution of the Mavic 3 with a superior telephoto camera and a new zoom camera for mid-range distances. Additionally, it is the first drone to feature a triple-camera system.
Similar to the Mavic 3, the main sensor is a massive 20MP Four Thirds 24mm Hasselblad camera with a variable f/2.8-11 aperture. It supports ProRes video 5.1k (51202700px) at 50fps along with DCI 4K (4096x2160px) and conventional 4K (3840x2160px) at 120fps in 10-bit D-Log.
A new 48MP 1/1.3″ 70mm f/2.8 3x telephoto camera shoots 4K at 60 fps and 10-bit D-Log. It takes 12MP binned photos.
The primary sensor features 12.8 stops of dynamic range and Hasselblad’s Natural Color Solution (HNCS) color science, which, according to the iconic brand, will deliver accurate colors out of the box.
The third camera is a 12MP 1/2.5″ 7x 166mm f/3.4 telephoto with 4K up to 60 fps support. In contrast, the Mavic 3 featured a 162mm telescopic lens with an aperture of f/4.4. This sensor is also capable of 10-bit Apple ProRes and 8-bit H.264/H.265 video capture.
The triple camera system is mounted on a mechanical gimbal with three axes that stabilizes tilt, roll, and pan. The Mavic 3 Pro includes omnidirectional obstacle avoidance sensors.
The new drone also supports DJI’s most recent O3+ transmission, which supports 1080/60p live broadcast up to 15 kilometers away (though the drone should always be in your line of sight).
The drone’s maximum flight time is 43 minutes, the same as the Mavic 3.
Waypoint Flight (where you preset a flight path), Cruise Control (the drone flies in any direction without stick input), Advanced Return to home (the drone will return to you with obstacle avoidance enabled), FocusTrack (the main and medium telephoto camera can track a preset object within the frame), QuickShots (Dronie, Rocket, Circle, Helix), and MasterShots (where the drone will automatically shoot and edit a video) are all present on the Mavic 3 Pro.
The DJI Mavic 3 Pro with the DJI RC controller costs $2,199/€2,099, while the Fly More Combo with the RC controller costs $2,999/€2,799 and the Fly More Combo with the RD Pro controller costs $3,899/€3,499. A DJI Mavic 3 Pro Cone with an integrated 1TB SSD is also available for $4,799/€4,549 in a Fly More Combo with the RC Pro controller.
