In order to assist users in getting the most out of their WhatsApp groups, we launched the Communities feature one year ago. When we first launched, one of our primary goals has been to develop more tools that can be used by both administrators and regular users. Today, we are thrilled to bring out a few new modifications that we have made to simplify group navigation for everyone and make it easier for admins to administer the groups they oversee.
New Controls Available for Administrators
As more individuals join communities, we want to offer group admins more control over the privacy of their groups. As a result, we’ve developed a straightforward tool that allows admins the power to choose who is permitted to join a group and who is not permitted to join a group. When an admin of a group chooses to make their group joinable in a community or post the invite link for their group, they now have additional control over who may join their group. People tend to have some of their most personal talks within groups, thus it is essential that admins be able to quickly and simply select who may and who cannot join the group.
Find Quickly What Groups Are Shared
With the expansion of Communities and its bigger groups, one of our goals is to simplify the process of determining which of a person’s shared groups you both belong to. You can now simply search a contact’s name to check which groups the two of you are a part of, which is helpful whether you’re trying to recall the name of a group that you know you share with someone else or you want to view the groups that you’re both in.
As we continue to develop additional tools to provide the greatest experience possible for group administrators as well as group members, we will begin rolling out these features around the world within the next few weeks.
